What is UPI?
The Ulcer Performance Index (UPI) measures a strategy’s return relative to its downside risk. It combines annualized return (CAGR) with the Ulcer Index, which measures the depth and persistence of drawdowns. In other words, UPI rewards higher returns and penalizes deeper and more persistent declines in your trading account.
